    Congratulations to all of SLCSE's participants in the 2020 Utah Science and Engineering Fair, and an extra shout-out to Olivia and Molly for their selection to participate in the upcoming International Science Fair!!

    At the Salt Lake Regional competition for National History Day, five projects by SLCSE students placed in the top three of their category. These students' projects will advance to the statewide virtual competition later in April.

     

    The category, student (grade), and project titles are:

    • Website by Brian (10), War Declared: The Breaking Of Barriers In Medicine And Society
    • Exhibit by Daphne (11), Gut Reaction: A Surgeon, A Trapper, and the Experiments that Drew Them Together
    • Historical paper by Molly (11),  Remaining Barriers: Racial Reconciliation Fantasies in Film
    • Historical paper by Lukas (9), Humankind and Their View of the Solar System
    • Documentary film by Ashley (10) and Nathan (10), A Forgotten History: The 1917 Bath Riots

     

    Congratulations to all of the students who participated in History Fair this year at SLCSE. Their consistent work in Fridays afterschool meetings provided an academic and rewarding end to each week for Mr. Dearden, Ms. Haakenson, and Mr. Crandall.

  • Ahitza and Amber will both receive awards from Artes de Mexico en Utah for their artwork that embraces the Call for Artists contest objective:

     

    "Winners for the Call for Artists contest, named this year “Nuestras Raices” "Our Roots" to acknowledge the "International Year of the Indigenous Languages". The selected artworks will be published in a book along with the winners of the poetry and prose. This book is sponsored by the Salt Lake Community College and the Community Writing Center."
